- Purchases made from Our Happy Homestead are eligible for a refund or an exchange within 30 days of delivery. See below for the conditions of such returns. All products represented are new from the manufacturer – open box or damaged returns will be liquidated by other means.
- Returns & Replacements
- Returned merchandise must be in the same condition in which we shipped it. Please contact us to receive a return authorization number before you ship anything back to us. All parts and packing materials must be included in the return or a repackaging fee will apply. Postage and insurance are your responsibility unless we made the mistake – if we messed up, we’ll pay the shipping (surface only). Please be sure to properly package your products – insurance does not cover damage due to improper packing.
- Refunds & Exchanges
- Refunds may be charged a 10% restocking fee (minimum of $10). We’re a small operation and our costs stack up faster than 10% on returns. This charge will also apply to refused shipments along with the incurred freight costs. No restocking fee applies for items that are exchanged for an item of equal or greater price. See the returns section for policies in sending back your item to exchange.
- Defective Equipment
- If you have need of returning defective merchandise, you have the choice of either a replacement or a refund within the first 30 days. After 30 days, the manufacturer’s warranty will apply. Please see your paperwork in this case. We will pay for shipping costs only in the 50 states and Canada. Defective items will be shipped only by surface shipping (except for Alaska and Hawaii; mail only in these states).
- Shipping
- Our standard method of shipping is by FedEx Ground, although we may sometimes ship small items by the United States Postal Service. Other shipping options may be available – please contact us if you have questions about such service. If you find any damage from the shipping, this must be noted immediately and reported to us within 7 days. Shipping by FedEx ground is free on any orders over $99, unless otherwise noted. None of these apply for grain pickups, however. Please see the appropriate section for grain shipping.
- Shipping Grain
- We don’t ship our grain. Since bulk grain is by nature so heavy, we have a periodic grain pickup scheduled in order to eliminate such large shipping costs. Pickup is arranged on the day of grain delivery in Elizabeth, Colorado. However, we can also arrange grain deliveries to Denver Metro and Eastern Colorado locations including Simla, Ramah, Calhan, and Colorado Springs for an additional $20.00. Multiple family orders in towns further along the I70 and I25 Corridors can be arranged depending on the order size and coordination – please contact us to arrange details.
- APO/FPO
- At Our Happy Homestead, we believe in thanking those protecting us in the armed services. In order to best serve our military families, we will ship at our regular shipping rates to any APO or FPO address. If you have the ability to receive shipments at a regular US address, please provide that for us. If this is not possible, we’ll stand by our usual rates and say thank you!
- Shipment for Wrong Items
- If we make a mistake on what we send to you, the replacement will be shipped by ground only.
- Receipts
- When ordering online or by phone, your receipt will be emailed to you. If you need an additional copy, please request such within 30 days of purchase. We can email, fax or mail this to you. Most manufacturers require a receipt for warranty purposes, so please keep a copy with your paperwork.
- Import Fees
- All fees associated with importing are the responsibility of the purchaser. Please call if these fees will apply to your purchase.
- Alaska and Hawaii
- Please call your order in to us if you live in one of these states. Special shipping charges will apply, and we will review the options with you.
- Credit Card Charges
- All credit card charges must be to credit cards billed to a United States billing address. Please contact us directly if you have an issue with your order – we will reach a mutually agreeable solution without the need for charge disputes.
- Privacy Policy
- We would not want you to have our information and sell it to a third party. We won’t do this to you, either.
- Security
- As long as you are using our online ordering system, your information is encrypted and secure. We do not store your information longer than is necessary for charges to be completed. Note that Email is NOT secure – DO NOT send credit card information through email! You will never be asked for this information via email. Your information is safe when working through our secure checkout system or over the phone directly with us.
- Backorders
- We try to update our website as soon as possible. If an item becomes backordered after an order has been placed, we will contact you by phone or email as soon as we are made aware of such delays. We will also make every effort to make the situation right.
We cannot be responsible for typographical or grossly improper pricing errors made on our site. Obviously we’re careful, but if you notice something wrong, let us know - we’ll make sure it’s worth your while!
